At the close of 2024, the Department of the Interior contacted Conservation Media with an idea: turn an historic meeting into a film.
The meeting was the end result of many year’s effort to draft a stewardship plan for restoring wild bison in the US, and how the federal government and tribes could move forward together. The meeting involved representatives from eight tribes (Eastern Shoshone, Blackfeet, Northern Cheyenne, Cherokee Nation, Rosebud Sioux, Oneida, Cheyenne River Sioux, Fort Peck Assiniboine & Sioux Tribes) and five federal agencies from the Department of the Interior (US Fish & Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management, US Geological Survey, National Park Service, and Bureau of Indian Affairs).
